For those of you who were having a problem logging into BrainBall, this should now be resolved, so give it another go. If you still have the same issue, try clearing your cache to make sure you are loading the updated page. If the problem persists, please let me know.

In this game you will be presented with a 4×5 grid of squares, each containing a letter. At any given time, all but two of these pieces will be changing at regular intervals, cycling upwards through the alphabet (from A to B to C and so on). Your job is to pay very careful attention [...]

OK, well I just made some changes and played the game through twice and it seemed to work fine, so I am going to assume it’s OK unless I hear otherwise. So please let me know if you encounter one of the problems: a) the instructions page comes up blank or b) one of the [...]

I have decided to begin the BrainBall season a little early as I will not be around later tonight to do it then. So this first day will actually run a day and a half, beginning Sunday afternoon and running until day #2 begins at 2am EDT. Please let me know ASAP if you encounter [...]

I am out of town for a wedding and then a week of traveling with family, so if there are problems with any of the daily game I will not be able to address them until next monday. I believe that I have things properly set up so the games will start up properly tomorrow [...]

so it turns out I had some travel delays and didn’t make it back home as soon as I had planned, meaning that I was not able to get the new season up today. I’ll be back from my travels later today and will have everything ready for tomorrow. C-ya then.

Oops, BrainBall didn’t change days properly on tuesday morning. I think I have the glitch in the script all sorted out so hopefully that wont happen again. Anyway, if you tried to login and play before 11:30 and were unable to do so, come on back and give it another shot.

The goal of this game is to reduce the board of tiles so that only one tile remains. Sometimes this is difficult or even impossible but try to leave as few pieces as you can. Eliminate the pieces by dragging tiles onto one another. You may only combine tiles that have consecutive numbers, for instance [...]

In this task, you are presented with a grid of pieces. Each piece has two characteristics: shape and color. After 15 seconds the grid will reset and you have to try and recreate it as best as you can. Click on a piece to rotate through the shapes. Then, once you have selected a shape, [...]

I had a little bit of a disaster over the weekend and had to change my webhost. While the transfer seems to have gone smoothly in general, BrainBall now seems to be a little buggy.. so today’s data will likely be tossed. I hope to get this figured out today and have things back on [...]

please take 10 minutes to participate in the trial season of BrainBall. If you experience any difficulties or discover and glitches, please let me know. The first season of BrainBall v2 will begin next Monday, assuming the trial period runs smoothly.

BrainBall v2 is live and beginning it’s inaugural season. Everything seems to be working properly, let’s hope it continues that way. Enjoy the game and please let me know if you encounter any problems. One other thing, I have shortened the game from 10 tasks to 8 tasks to make it a little less of [...]

No, I haven’t abandoned BrainBall again … I just got sidetracked. It has been hard to gather momentum as I have a lot of other things I need to work on and it’s tough to churn out a new season every month right now since all my previous work has been rendered useless by the [...]

The goal of the game is to group numbers together such that they add up to 100 – or as close as possible. Move pieces from the game board to the adding queue by clicking on them. Once you’ve added a piece you may not remove it. Add as many numbers as you want to [...]
