I have gotten a number e-mails from people wondering what has become of BrainBall and the other daily games. The truth is, they take considerably more effort to maintain and became too much of a burden when I was only able to develop part of my time to this endeavor. To further complicate the situation, the language behind flash-actionscript-went through a major update about a year and a half ago that contributed to the derailing of these games, as new content I was making would not be compatible with the old system. I have always been planning on developing a new BrainBall and getting it back online, and that time has now arrived. I’ve been working for the last week and a half developing a new and better version of BrainBall and it’s close to being up and ready to play. In fact, you can already play all of the games in practice mode, and I expect the live game will be open for a few trial days before resuming again a real this Monday. that’s exciting. The other exciting thing is that part of this resurrection BrainBall includes integration with Facebook (for the few of you that don’t know what that is, it’s the largest social networking site). So hopefully, since BrainBall is cool and Facebook is a great tool for friends to pass around cool things to each other, this version of BrainBall’s going to have considerably more players. We’ll see… but for now and just be happy to know that it’s coming back online.
Oh yeah and before I go, one more exciting thing: all of the daily games will now be integrated with playwithyourmind.com so you only need one username and you will have access to a master stats page with information on all the various sections of the site.
Okay, back to finishing up BrainBall. if you want, check in tomorrow to participate in the demo game, but for sure I’ll see you on Monday.
